Frequently Asked Questions
What is permanent jewelry?
A custom-fit jewelry without a clasp, welded together using a painless, quick, and easy process. Because the bracelet is welded on, it does not have a clasp, therefore will “permanently” stay on until you decide to remove it.
Can I remove the bracelet, if I want?
Yes, you can remove your permanent bracelet by using a common pair of household scissors or nail clippers at any time, but please note, this action cannot be undone. If possible, try to cut the chain at the original place of the weld.
What if it breaks or stretches?
If your chain breaks or stretches in the first two weeks of your welding appointment, we will replace or re-weld the chain free of charge. You must have your chain. After this time period, there is a $25 re-welding fee. This fee includes if the bracelet was voluntarily cut off. This jewelry is durable, but not indestructible.
Will the jewelry change or tarnish in color?
Our gold jewelry is gold-filled. The coating is over 100x thicker than gold plated. This will not tarnish, but may need a little cleaning here and there to polish it up.
Our silver is .925 sterling silver which can temporarily tarnish in certain conditions such as natural hot springs, chlorine, sulfur, bleach, and other strong chemicals. A silver cleaning wipe will take it right off, as will a mixture of olive oil & lemon juice.
What if I need to remove my jewelry for a surgery or MRI?
You can cut at the jump ring with scissors or wire cutters or come in and we can help. Save your jewelry and we will re-weld when you’re able to.
How long will my jewelry last?
Weeks, months, years. This is dependent solely on the type of permanent jewelry, your lifestyle, job, and other factors.
Will it set off airport metal detectors?
No, our jewelry is so dainty it won’t trigger the alarm.
Is there an age requirement?
You must be 12 years or older. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. At the time of your appointment, a waiver form must be signed.
My chain fell off and I lost it. What now?
Unfortunately lost chains are not replaced by Elysium. A new chain must be purchased.
